What we do
Serving The Community
We empower individuals through volunteer coordination, disaster response, community classes, and blessing boxes.
We support nonprofits and churches with office sharing, networking, and resource partnerships, helping bring visions into reality and establish 501c3 status.
We partner with local municipalities, first responders, and businesses to provide volunteer assistance when needed, filling gaps for citizens without safety nets.
As members of Tennessee VOAD and local VOADs, we assist in disaster response with volunteer coordination and resource distribution.
How we serve
Choose a path. See how neighbors help neighbors.
Walk through the four ways Walking With Swager shows up in Middle Tennessee — classes, food access, supplies, and hands-on projects.
01 / Service Projects
Show up. Build. Rebuild.
Churches, schools, businesses, and neighbors join us for hands-on projects — ramps, cleanups, disaster response, and everyday fixes.
- Disaster and everyday community response
- Student service hours (Beta Club, Hope Scholarship)
- Internships and volunteers of every skill level
When the unexpected hits Middle Tennessee, we mobilize people to meet real needs on the ground.

02 / Education
Skills for everyday life — and the unexpected
Workshops help neighbors plan ahead: life goals, home skills, storm prep, and job readiness. Held at our offices and with partners like Fifty Forward and BSA.
- Living With Swager Life Plan Workshop
- Volunteer & Disaster Response Training
- Basic Home Repair · Storm Preparedness
- Resume & Job Skills Workshops
03 / Blessing Boxes
Food and essentials — given and received with dignity
Community-filled boxes placed where neighbors can give or take quietly, without paperwork or intake lines.
1 in 5 students in the region face food insecurity. Children are hit hardest — and the trend is rising across Middle Tennessee.
Filled by neighbors. Open to neighbors. Built to reduce shame around asking for help.

04 / Resource Distribution
The right supplies, when they matter
Retailers, churches, nonprofits, and individuals help us move essentials fast — after a disaster or on an ordinary Tuesday.
- Household essentials and repair materials
- Partner network for blue-sky and emergency needs
- Direct handoff to people who need them most
A broken faucet can be catastrophic without tools, skills, or funds. Partners close that gap.

The Difference A Ramp Makes
Donate“Look at this! Elvis spent some time outside today. We took him up and down his new ramp and soaked up some sunshine. You guys worked so hard all day! I can’t begin to know how to show our appreciation, except to ask God to pour out a giant blessing upon you!”
— Diane Harrison, Ramp Recipient
